JCC Volleyball Hands Redwood Valley their First Loss of the Season
Wed 9-7-2022
The JCC volleyball team moved to 3-1 on the season with a 3 to 1 win over the Redwood Valley Cardinals last night. The Huskies won game one 25 to 21 and then the Cardinals took game two 25 to 20. The Huskies dominated game 3 and won 25 to 15 and then won the 4th 25 to 20 for the victory. Emma Haren led the attack for JCC with 18 kills but the difference maker in the game was Elese Paplow. The Cardinals tried everything but could not come up with an answer for her serve. Head coach Deidre Wierson says Paplow’s play was key.
Paplow was 26 of 26 from the service line with 5 aces. Maci Farmer was 15 of 16 with 3 ace serves while Haren was 14 of 16 with one ace and Alexis O’Reilly was 11 of 13 with one ace. Sawyer Flatgard had some key blocks for the Huskies and ended the night with 6. Peyton Hansen had 4 blocks on the evening. Coach Wierson is very happy with how the players have responded to adversity so far this season.
The Huskies are in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Marshall to take on the Tigers.
