JCC Volleyball Falls to #1 Team in Class AAA

It was a volleyball clash of two ranked teams in two different classes in the State of MN last night in Marshall. Jackson County Central, the #5 ranked team in class 2A, and the Marshall Tigers, the #1 ranked team in class 3A, battled it out on the volleyball hardwood. The Tigers came out on top 3 games to 0 and scores were 25-14, 25-11, 25-15. The Huskies record is now 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Big South Conference west division. The Huskies definitely put up a fight as they were trailing 11 to 3 in the first set and worked their way back into the set getting within 3 points at 16 to 13. Then Marshall would go on a 9-1 run to end set one. Emma Haren had 9 kills on the night for the Huskies while Andria Benson had 6. Maci Farmer had 16 set assists and was 9 of 10 from the service line with one ace. Peyton Hanson was 7 of 8 from the service line while Haren was 6 of 7 with one ace. The Huskies take on another tough opponent on Thursday when they face Sioux Falls Christian who is ranked # 1 in South Dakota’s class A.
