The Jackson County Central track and field team had some success at the Class A state track and field meet at St. Michael-Abertville High School yesterday. Caleb Vancura placed  fifth in discus (151’8”) in his first trip to state. He was the highest place finisher for the team. Daysia Tomlin, Kendra Haar, Hannah Carson and Elsa Landherr set a new personal-record in the 4x200 Thursday in prelims, then beat it Friday to finish sixth in one minute, 47.43 seconds.  Andrew Boyum finished 11th in the 1,600-meter run (4:32.51), Landherr finished 12th in triple jump (33’4.5”) and Maci Farmer placed 15th in triple jump (31’10.5”). Peyton Hanson had to medically withdraw from the 100- and 300-meter hurdles Thursday and also in the pole vault Friday due to an injury she suffered to her foot.
