JCC Softball Drops a Close One to St. James

Wed 4-13-2022

They moved up the game 30 minutes and it proved to be a smart move as the JCC Huskies softball team was able to get in a conference game against St. James last night.  The Saints spoiled the Huskies home opener however by hanging on for a 2-0 victory.   8th grader Hadley Wachal only allowed one earned run in 7 innings. She had 6 strikeouts on the day. Saint James Saints pitching phenom Addie Bowers struck out 16 batters in the game to keep the Huskies bats silent. There was a 30-minute delay towards the end of the game and that seemed to re-ignite the Huskies as they threatened in the 7th after Carson Schneekloth led off the seventh with a single and got to third base on a pair of wild pitches, but ended up getting stranded.  The only other hit in the game for the Huskies was a second-inning single by Alexis O’Reilly. The Huskies now have a little bit of a break and then will travel to Windom for a game on April 21.
