JCC, MCW to compete; latest polls

Both the Jackson County Central and Martin County West cross country teams will be in action Thursday.
The Huskies will compete in a triangular with meet host St. James Area and Waseca at Voss Park in Butterfield, while the Mavericks have a dual with Madelia/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther at Madelia City Park.
JCC will be competing against a St. James Area team that is eighth in the latest Class A boys team ratings by the Minnesota Cross Country Coaches Association. The Saints' Caleb Rivera is ninth in the individual ratings.
West Central Area is the top-rated Class A boys team. Geno Uhrbom of Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin is the top-ranked individual.
In the Class A girls team poll, Luverne is second, Murray County Central/Fulda third and Fairmont eighth. Perham is first.
MCC/Fulda's Morgan Gehl leads the individual rankings, with Luverne's Tenley Nelson third and Redwood Valley's Maddie LeSage 11th.
