JCC Boys Win, Girls 2nd, MCW/BO Teams 6th at A&W Invite

The Jackson County Central boys track and field team captured 10 events and won the A&W Invite in Mountain Lake on Thursday. 

Ben Dahlin won the 200 Meter Dash and took part in a pair of relay victories as well. Dahlin joined Clay Malchow, Aiven Farmer, and Ron Kyle in the 4x100 Relay. 

Dahlin and Farmer ran with Isaac Hesebeck and Quinn Landherr in the 4x200 Relay. Hesebeck won the 4x400 Relay with Tellef Landherr, Tavion Diggs, and Kristoph Olsem. 

Malchow posted a new PR to win the 300 Meter Low Hurdles with teammate James Atura right behind him. Atura also finished runner-up in the 110 Meter High Hurdles. 

Kyle took home victories in the High Jump and Long Jump. His new PR in the High Jump is tied for the third best in school history. 

Tellef Landherr won the Pole Vault and Triple Jump.  

Dez Tupper won the 400 Meters and took part in the runner-up 4x800 Relay team. 

Farmer took second place in the Shot Put and Discus. 

Lixon Forsberg led the sixth-place Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin boys team.

Forsberg placed fifth in the 200 Meters and Long Jump. He also took part in the third-place 4x100 Relay with Mason Menssen, Kane Wohlhuter, and Bentley Muller. Brody Cook was fourth in the 3200 Meters. Hank Olson was fifth in the Shot Put. 

The JCC boys collected 233 points ahead of St. James-Madelia with 150, St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran with 121, Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey with 80, Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central with 47, and MCW/BO with 44. 

Rylie Cother had four of the seven JCC girls event wins in the 100 Meter High Hurdles, 300 Meter Low Hurdles, High Jump, and Long Jump. 

Natalia Botello-Ramos took the victory in the 100 Meters ahead of teammate Zoey Hall. Tianna Ulik won the Shot Put for the second time this week. Paylin Sether scored the Triple Jump victory. 

The JCC girls finished second place in three of the four relay races. Other runner-up performances by the Huskies included Naiya Ayers with her first career sub-13 minute time in the 3200 Meters, Stevie Untiedt in the 400 Meters, and Erica Hanson in the Pole Vault. 

Mylee Larson led the sixth-place MCW/BO girls effort with a Discus win and fifth place in the Shot Put.  

St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran scored 201.5 points for the girls win ahead of JCC with 177, St. James-Madelia with 119, Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey with 77.5, Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central with 73, and MCW/BO with 35 points. 

The Huskies are headed to the Redwood Valley Varsity Invite on Tuesday. 

The Mavericks return to action in Blue Earth next Friday.
