Jackson County Central Basketball Swept By Fairmont

Jackson County Central basketball lost both games of a doubleheader against Fairmont on Monday night.
The JCC girls fell behind by 16 in the second half after going back and forth with Fairmont for most of the first half. The Huskies scored 12 straight points to help cut the deficit down to two with less than eight minutes left. The Cardinals took back control after that in the 67-58 win.
Rylie Cother scored a game-high 27 points. Kylee Wenzel added 17 in the second half to finish with 19. Paylin Sether and Madelyn Rowe each scored five points and Brylee Anderson had two.
The JCC girls are now 13-6 on the season with a visit to Marshall coming up on Friday.
The JCC boys never led after falling behind by 10 points early and cutting that down to four during the first half. The Cardinals opened their lead up to as many as 28 in the second half. JCC lost 74-54.
Ben Gallagher led the Huskies with 15 points and Thomas Sether had nine. Both made a trio of 3-pointers. Weston Rowe scored six points. Carson Pohlman and Noah Thompson added five late. Roman Voss, Grant Freking and Aiven Farmer each scored four points. Sulaimon Olaosebikan had two.
The JCC boys are also 13-6 overall with Marshall coming to town on Friday night.
