ILCC softball team takes two from Northeast

ESTHERVILLE - The Iowa Lakes Community College softball team swept Northeast Community College Sunday in their final regular-season games, winning 8-6 and 6-4.

Lexus Gorospe picked up the win in the first game for the Lakers, allowing six earned runs on 11 hits, striking out six and walking two.

Yasmine Nix had three hits with two doubles and two runs scored. Tianna Soto and Madisyn Arechederra had two hits apiece.

Naomi Tolmachoff was the winning pitcher in the second game for the Lakers as she came on in relief of Nix.

Autumn Phelps had two hits and three runs batted in for ILCC, whille Priscilla Lozoya collected two hits.

The Lakers travel to Cedar Rapids to start the Regional XI tournament Thursday.
