ESTHERVILLE - Three players scored 19 points apiece as the Iowa Lakes Community College men's basketball team opened its season with a 92-76 win over the Northwestern College JV Thursday.

Equan Ards (Milwaukee Hamilton), Solomon Clayton (Fort Dodge) and Kevin Jennings (Grand Prairie, Tex.) each scored 19 for the Lakers. Boston Grimes (Johnston) netted 14.

Solomon Clayton grabbed nine rebounds. Malcolm Clayton (Fort Dodge) had five assists.

Northwestern won the women's game 78-70.

Breanna Wendland (Richfield) recorded 22 points and seven rebounds for ILCC.

Bethany Rehse (OABCIG) scored 14 points, Shareece Smith (Fort Dodge) 12 and Tejah Hayden (St. Louis Park) 10. Kaitlyn Reynolds (Gracemont, Okla.) had 12 rebounds.

Both host Iowas Lakes teams host the Dordt College JV Monday, with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. and the men's at 7:30.
