Huskies Will Play Redwood Valley For Another Section Title

Jackson County Central football will play Redwood Valley on Friday for the Section 3AA Championship in Marshall.

JCC and Redwood Valley played at JCC on Sept 29th. It was the closest game the Huskies had all season, winning 29 to 17. The Huskies finished with 161 yards rushing to Redwood Valley’s 12. The Huskies also passed for 274 yards to RV 113.

Redwood Valley defeated LCWM 28 to 7 in the first round of playoffs and then defeated Windom Area 49 to 20 last Saturday to get a shot at the Section 3AA championship. Today they try to get the upset of the season over JCC. They will look to their junior quarterback Ethan Louwagie who has 160 completions on 267 attempts up to this point. He has 26 TD’s and has passed for 2290 yards with 7 interceptions. 

The Huskies received a bye in the first round and then defeated MN Valley Lutheran 55 to 13 to earn another shot at the championship. Looking at some season totals for the Huskies, Seth Stai leads the rushing attack with 807 yards on 101 carries and 11 touchdowns. Roman Voss has 507 yards on 48 carries while Clay Malchow has collected 212 yards on 37 rushing attempts. Through the air Ben Dahlin is the Huskies #1 receiver. HE has 26 catches for 420 yards and 6 TD’s. Bryson Powers is next with 10 catches for 269 yards and 6 td’s.

Brenan Runge started out as the signal caller at the beginning of the season and currently has 44 completions on 68 attempts for 751 yards and 14 touchdowns. Roman Voss is 12 of 37 for 249 yards through the air with 3 TD’s.

Jack Sadusky has been solid on point after attempts going 31 for 35. He is also 1 for 1 on field goals. He gets some good distance on his kicks which could be key to a deep playoff run for JCC.
