Huskies will have 11 Individuals in the Class A State Wrestling Tourney

The Jackson County Central Huskies wrestling team’s first focus will be defending their Class A team title from last season. Their first match will be against West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon Evansville at 9:00 AM on Thursday. Last year the Huskies faced this same team in the semifinals and won 41 to 27. If they win, they will wrestle at 1:00 PM. The championship is scheduled for 7:00. The individual portion of the tourney starts on Friday at 9:00 and 11 of the Huskies will be going after a state title. Here is who will be wrestling on Friday. 106 Kayden Eller, 126 Ben Dahlin, 132 Nolan Ambrose, 138 Thomas Freking, 145 Logan Butzon, 152 Isiah Rodriguez, 160 Trey Rossow, 170 Dylan Withers, 195 Matt Haley, 220 Caleb Vancura, and 285 Cam Scholten. Ambrose and Freking are both the #1 seed in their respective weight classes. If you are planning on attending the State Tourney, all individual tickets need to be purchased online, but you can get daily passes on site. We will have complete coverage of the State wrestling tournament on Xtreme Country 105.7. It will start at 9 am on Thursday and then individuals on Friday and Saturday. There will be a pep fest on Wednesday at 9:00 in the JCC high school gymnasium that is open to the public.
