JACKSON - The fall sports season at Jackson County Central will come to an end Thursday when the volleyball team hosts Luverne in a Big South Conference West Division match.
That comes after Gov. Tim Walz put high school sports in the state on a four-week pause that goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. Friday.
The teams are meeting for the second time in four days.
The teams met on Monday at Luverne, with the Cardinals winning 3-2. Luverne won the first two sets, JCC rallied to win the next two and the Cardinals won the fifth set.
Jackson County Central is 6-4 overall, 5-4 in conference play. Luverne is 4-5, both overall and in the conference.
Marshall has clinched the West Division title in the BSC with an 8-0 record currently, while New Ulm is 7-0 to clinch the top spot in the Eastern Division.
Both teams play division matches on Thursday, with the Tigers hosting Worthington and the Eagles playing at St. Peter. Marshall then hosts New Ulm Friday for the conference championship.
