Huskies Take Third Straight Big South Conference Title
The Jackson County Central wrestling team won a third straight Big South Conference championship in New Ulm on Saturday.
JCC got an early decision from Kyler Thier and then Kayden Eller got his 50th career pin. The Huskies got wins by pin from Isaac Rodriguez and a decision by Ben Dahlin to take a 17-12 lead.
Top-ranked Class A grappler Nolan Ambrose won a ranked showdown by decision at 145 pounds for a 20-12 lead. Trey Rossow took an overtime decision at 152 for a 23-12 lead.
Seth Stai earned another pin at 160 pounds to give JCC a 29-12 lead. Ryan Haley sealed the championship with a pin at 189 pounds after a New Ulm win by major decision.
The Huskies beat the Eagles by the final team score of 35-28 and moved to 17-3 on the season.
