Huskies Sink Buccaneers in Five Innings

The Jackson County Central softball team routed Blue Earth Area at home on Thursday. 

The Huskies collected 12 hits to sink the Buccaneers 13-1 in five innings for the run-rule victory. 

JCC collected four runs in the first inning, six in the second, and three in the third. BEA scored once in the top of the fifth but could not extend the game. 

Brielle Tufvesson and Miley VanDeVere each batted in a pair of runs and scored one as well. Bailey Finck and Hadley Wachal each plated one run. Finck, Kinley VanDeVere, and Lauren Johnson each scored twice. Clara Brinks scored three runs. Mady Wachal and Brielle Mouw each scored a run. Finck hit a pair of doubles and Tufvesson smacked one as well. 

Hadley Wachal earned the win with a one-hit shutout in the second frame while striking out a pair of Bucs. Brielle Mouw pitched a pair of scoreless innings with  two strikeouts and a walk. Mady Wachal tossed one perfect inning that featured  two strikeouts. CJ Pauling finished off the game with just one run and one hit allowed.  

The 4-0 Huskies will visit Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial next Thursday.
