Huskies Run Away From Worthington On The Road

Mon 9-11-2023

Jackson County Central football hit the road for the first time in 2023 on Friday against Worthington.

The Huskies blanked the Trojans 43-0 to stay unbeaten. Seth Stai capped the opening drive with a 12-yard rushing touchdown. Ian Titterington recovered a fumble to start a drive that ended in a 31-yard field goal by Jack Sadusky. Bryson Powers had a 36-yard catch and run just before halftime to help make it 16-0 JCC at the break. Stai added another 12-yard rushing TD and then Powers had another receiving TD from 18 yards out. Isaac Hessebeck scored a 16-yard rushing TD and Gage Johnson finished the scoring with a 42-yard scamper. Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the depth JCC is developing on the fly helped the Huskies pull away.

"You've got to give Worthington credit. In the first half, we didn't punt but they slowed us down a lot and took the ball away a couple times," said Schuller. "Getting forced to use depth, I guess, in the end, is a good thing, but I would like to see our starters completely intact once to see what we have. Hats off to some of those guys who were able to come in and play for us and get the job done."

The Huskies are 2-0 with Blue Earth Area coming to town this Friday. The Buccaneers are 0-2 after close losses to Pipestone Area and Triton. Pregame will be at 6:45 with kickoff at 7:00 on KKOJ.
