Huskies Pull Away From Arrows in Varsity Sweep

The Jackson County Central basketball teams swept a varsity doubleheader against Pipestone Area at home on Tuesday night. 

The JCC girls took control in the second half and routed the Arrows 80-58 after trailing 34-32 at halftime. 

Rylie Cother led all Huskies scorers with 38 points. Zadi Farmer added 19 points. 

Madelyn Rowe and Paylin Sether each scored six points. Payton Coquyt scored five points. Brylee Anderson made a three-pointer. Kylee Wenzel made one field goal. Kinley VanDeVere made a free throw. 

The 14-6 Huskies take their 11-game winning streak on the road against Belle Plaine on Friday night. 

The JCC boys pulled away to a big win of their own 65-40 after leading 24-21 at halftime. 

Grant Freking led all scorers in the nightcap with 25 points and co-led the Huskies with eight rebounds. Weston Rowe collected 12 points and four rebounds. Aiven Farmer had eight points and co-led JCC with eight rebounds. Thomas Sether dished out four assists. 

Carter Buhl scored seven points and Carson Pohlman added six points. Blaise Rowe put in a three-pointer. Sulaimon Olaosebikan and Vincent Manzke each scored a two-point field goal. 

The seventh-ranked Huskies have back-to-back wins and have won eight of nine since their first loss of the season at Belle Plaine. JCC welcomes the Tigers to Jackson on Friday night.
