Huskies Overpower Eagles in Section Semifinal

The top-ranked Jackson County Central football team blanked Windom Area to advance to a fifth straight Section 3AA championship game on Saturday.
The Huskies steamrolled the Eagles 67-0 in the semifinal round at Swearingen Field for their 22nd consecutive victory and 26th straight home win.

Tate Phillips scored a 20-yard rushing touchdown on the opening drive and the Gage Johnson two-point conversion made it 8-0 JCC.
The Huskies defense forced a turnover on downs before Johnson rushed in from 29 yards out for another TD and Phillips scored the two-pointer to make it 16-0 JCC.
The Huskies turned Windom over on downs again. Roman Voss delivered a 60-yard TD pass to Ben Gallagher and the Johnson two-pointer made it 24-0 JCC. Gallagher finished with 73 yards on three catches.
Johnson made an interception to stop the best Eagles drive of the day, would not be denied on an 81-yard catch and run, and scored the two-points to make it 32-0 JCC after the first quarter.
Voss went 7-of-8 passing for 199 yards and the pair of scores plus 36 yards on three runs.
Phillips scored from five yards out and Johnson scored the two-pointer to make it 40-0 JCC. Phillips finished with 85 yards rushing.
Johnson ran it in from five yards away and Tayshawn Smith supplied the extra point for the 47-0 JCC halftime lead. Johnson finished with 53 yards rushing and 103 yards receiving.
Carson Doescher threw a 29-yard TD pass to Blaise Rowe and the Smith extra point made it 54-0 JCC.
Mason Helmers ran for a 38-yard TD and the Smith extra point made it 61-0 JCC. Helmers had three rushes for 56 yards.
Kollin Brennan plowed in for a two-yard TD run to make the final score.
The JCC offense rushed for 313 yards and passed for 230 to finish with 543 total yards. Windom had just 102 yards with 55 in the air and 47 on the ground.
The 9-0 Huskies will play LeSueur-Henderson next Friday seeking their fourth straight section championship. The Giants beat Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 28-6 on Saturday.
