Huskies Looking to Protect Their Castle

Fri 9-5-2025

The top-ranked Jackson County Central football team is defending the home grass for the first time this season on Friday.

JCC welcomes Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial to Swearingen Field after a dominant 61-25 road win over Maple River last Thursday.

Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the offense is already special and the defense needs to take a step forward.

The Knights scored a Hail Mary touchdown to escape St James Area 24-20 at home last Friday. Coach Schuller says the Knights present some interesting challenges and will not lack effort on the field.

The Knights last had a winning season in 2020 and last made the playoffs in 2014. JCC has six straight wins since 2-18 in the series, including a forfeit in 2022.

The Little Huskies cheer performance will take place at halftime and it’s Mental Health Awareness Night at the game. The Itsy Bitsy Ice Box will be there with sales benefiting JCC Post Prom.

Our coverage begins at 6:40 with the kickoff at 7:00 on KKOJ Radio.
