Huskies Hustle Past Fairmont to Stay Unbeaten
Mon 4-21-2025

The eighth-ranked Jackson County Central softball team beat Fairmont to stay undefeated on Monday.
RECAP:
Hadley Wachal tossed 17 strikeouts to lead JCC in the 4-1 victory.
A solo home run gave the Cardinals their only run on two hits with three walks on the day as well.
Braelyn Boogerd and CJ Pauling singled before Kinley VanDeVere reached on an error to load the bases in the bottom of the third inning. Bailey Finck drew a walk to score Boogerd and make it 1-0 JCC.
Fairmont tied the game in the top of the fourth but JCC immediately responded in the home half. Boogerd walked aboard and then stole second. She stole third and then scored on another Cardinals error to put JCC back out front.
The Huskies added two more runs in the fifth. Mady Wachal scored on a Hadley Wachal single. Brielle Tufvesson laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring home Bailey Finck and complete the scoring.
JCC head coach Morgan Christopher says they did enough to get another win.
The 5-0 Huskies are scheduled to visit Luverne on Thursday. We will have that doubleheader on KKOJ Radio and Explore Live Video, weather permitting.
JCC will now visit #2 Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 11 a.m. this Saturday. That game was postponed due to rain last Thursday.
