The Jackson County Central wrestling team finished fourth place in Class A after going 1-2 at the State Tournament for the second straight year inside the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul. 

COACH INTERVIEW: JCC post WR team 2025 

The third-seeded Huskies started with a 37-25 win over LeSueur-Henderson. 

Mathias Liepold took a major decision and three straight pins by Kayden Eller, Isaac Rodriguez, and Kyler Thier made it 22-0 JCC. The Giants responded with a pair of wins by major decision, another by technical fall, and another by pin to make it 22-19 JCC. Cael Entriken turned the tide back toward the Huskies with a win by decision. Carson Kolander grabbed a quick pin and then Ryan Haley clinched another quarterfinal victory with a win by decision. LSH got a pin before Micheal Hansen finished off the win with a decision. 

The Huskies lost 64-0 to second-seeded and eventual state champion Staples Motley in the semifinals. 

JCC wrestled Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Area for third place. 

The Knights started with a win by decision before Eller won by decision to tie the team score at 3-3. The Knights took another decision but Rodriguez responded with a pin to make it 9-6 JCC. The Knight tied it at 9-9 with another decision but Dallas Gossen took a tech fall to make it 14-12 JCC. The Knights took a major decision but Ben Dahlin won by decision in his final varsity match to make it 17-13 JCC. The Knights responded with a pin, major decision, and tech fall to build a 28-17 lead. Jack Mix earned a pin in his final varsity match to bring JCC within 28-23. The Huskies needed a pin but the Knights got it instead for the 34-23 win and third place.

This is the fifth year in a row that JCC has at least made the semifinal round at the State Tournament.
