Huskies fall to Cardinals in BSC volleyball

JACKSON - Redwood Valley was a 3-2 winner over Jackson County Central in Big South Conference West Division volleyball Tuesday night. Set scores were 14-25, 25-16, 14-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Sadie Voss had a double-double of 17 kills and 27 digs for JCC and was 21-for-24 serving with three aces.

Alicia Brandt recorded 11 kills and four blocks and was 14-15 serving, while Regan Farmer was 12-13 serving and had six kills and seven digs.

Grace Brinkman posted 25 set assists and nine digs, with Megan Gallagher posting 15 set assists and 13 digs while going 16-16 serving.

Sydney Osterberg had had 13 digs and was 9-10 serving. Georgianna Wenzel and Rachel Anderson had six kills apiece.

The Huskies are 2-1 on the season, while the Cardinals are 2-0.

JCC will host Worthington Thursday. The Trojans were 3-2 winners over Windom Tuesday.

Also in the BSC West, Pipestone downed Luverne 3-0.

Marshall was not scheduled to play Tuesday night, but the Tigers will have their next three matches postponed.

The team is under quarantine for two weeks after a close exposure to COVID-19. Marshall's next scheduled match is Oct. 27 vs. JCC.

One match was played in the Big South East Tuesday, with New Ulm winning 3-2 over St. James Area 3-2.
