Huskies Deflect Arrows for Unbeaten Regular Season

The Jackson County Central football team pulled away to beat Pipestone Area 45-6 and complete a third consecutive unbeaten regular season on Wednesday night at home.
The third-ranked Huskies marched right down the field on their first offensive drive after forcing an Arrows three-and-out.
Gage Johnson scored a one-yard rushing touchdown and two-point conversion to make it 8-0 JCC.
The Arrows made an interception but the Huskies forced a safety on an intentional grounding penalty to make it 10-0 JCC after the first quarter.
Ben Gallagher grabbed an interception to set up the next Huskies drive.
Evan Bartholomaus made a short toss that Roman Voss turned into a 39-yard touchdown catch to make it 16-0 JCC.
Pipestone responded with a similar touchdown and made it 16-6 JCC.
Roman Voss broke free for a 51-yard TD run later in the second quarter.
The two-pointer by Gage Johnson made it 24-6 JCC. Tavion Diggs plunged in from one yard away to make it 30-6 Huskies at halftime. Voss returned to the end zone on a 16-yard run and then Isaac Hesebeck added two more points to make it 38-6 JCC. Gage Johnson made another TD from 11 yards out and Ben Gallagher made the extra point kick to complete the 45-6 final score.
Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the team lost composure for part of the first half but still managed to win under challenging circumstances.

The Huskies finish the regular season 8-0 for the eighth time in program history after a 25th straight regular season victory.
JCC earned the top Section 3AA seed and a first-round bye in the tournament with a semifinal game up next at home on Saturday, October 26th.
The Huskies will host the winner of #4 Le Sueur-Henderson and #5 Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial with kickoff at 3:00 p.m.
Pipestone Area gets a bye as the #2 seed with a game against the winner of #3 Redwood Valley and #6 Windom Area on that Saturday.
