Huskies Come Home Early From Redwood Valley

The Jackson County Central softball team made light work of Thursday’s road doubleheader against Redwood Valley. 

The ninth-ranked Huskies dominated game one 15-0 in four innings. 

JCC led off the game with eight runs in the first, added two more in the second, four in the third, and one more in the fourth before allowing no response for the run-rule victory. 

Miley VanDeVere batted in three runs, had two hits, and scored three runs herself. Lauren Johnson went three-for-three with two RBIs and two runs scored. Kinley VanDeVere had a pair of hits and scored three runs. Mady Wachal had a pair of hits, RBIs, and scored twice. 

Hadley Wachal pitched a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk. 

The Huskies worked a little harder in game two with the 10-0 win in five innings. 

JCC started with seven runs in the first, scored one in the fourth, and two in the fifth to walk away with the run-rule victory. 

Braelyn Boogerd plated three runs to lead the Huskies. Johnson collected three more hits in the nightcap. Brielle Tufvesson, Bailey Finck, Mady Wachal, and Kinley VanDeVere each had a pair of hits. Finck and Miley VanDeVere scored twice as well. 

Mady Wachal tossed a one-hit shutout with six strikeouts and one walk. 

The 13-2 Huskies visit Fairmont on Tuesday.
