Huskies Chew on Arrows for Third Straight Title
Sat 11-2-2024

The Jackson County Central football team pulled away from Pipestone Area to a third straight section championship 48-7 at Trojan Stadium in Worthington on Friday night.
RECAP:
The Huskies scored a safety on a botched Arrows punt attempt for the first points of the game. Roman Voss finished off the JCC drive after the free kick with a six-yard rushing touchdown. He found Aiven Farmer for the two-point conversion pass and the 10-0 JCC lead after the first quarter.
Pipestone grabbed an interception early in the second quarter but Ben Gallagher later returned the favor for JCC. Voss found Carson Pohlman wide open for a 26-yard TD pass late in the first half.
Gage Johnson ran in the two-pointer to make it 18-0 JCC at halftime.
Ben Dahlin started a 30-point third quarter explosion by taking the second half kickoff 85 yards to the house.
Clay Malchow converted the two-pointer to make it 26-0 JCC. Pipestone punted after a three-and-out and then Voss ran it in from 39 yards away. The two-pointer by Johnson made it 34-0 JCC. The Huskies recovered the loose kickoff at the one yard line and Tavion Diggs punched it in from there. Gallagher made the extra point and it was 41-0 JCC. Grant Freking returned an interception 39 yards for another TD and Gallagher made another PAT. Pipestone scored later in the third to make the 48-7 final score.
Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the top-ranked defense played their best game of the year to help JCC advance to the State bracket for the 11th time in school history.
