The Fairmont Cardinals, who are the #1 ranked team in Class AA, beat the odds by sweeping back-to-back games from the No. 4-ranked Paynesville Bulldogs. Paynesville was unbeaten coming into the games last night. The Cardinals won the first game 6-0 and the second 2-1 Thursday night. This team has been nicknamed the "Cardiac Kids" for all their close games in the playoffs this year. Fairmont is your Section 3AA Champion and will now play in the State Tournament which will be in St. Cloud at Dick Putz field starting on June 14th.
