ESTHERVILLE - For the third straight week, an Iowa Lakes Community College men's basketball player has been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Justin Brookens, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard from Milwaukee Vincent, has earned the honor for the second time this season. He was also honored the week of Nov. 11-17.

Keshawn Pegues and Alan Kikwaki honored the past two weeks.

Brookens led the Lakers to wins over DMACC, Ellsworth and the Dakota Wesleyan JV.

For the season, Brookens is averaging 20.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He is shooting 48% from the floor and 48.1% from three-point range. Brookens leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage.

The NJCAA eighth-ranked Lakers (17-3) will play Little Priest Tribal College (4-12) Wednesday in Winnebago, Neb.
