The Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin track and field teams visited the Valley Indoor Conference Championships at Minnesota State University-Mankato on Monday night. 

The boys finished third at the meet. 

Bear Kosbab led the Mavericks with wins in the 55 Meter Dash and 200 Meter race. Grant Koehnen earned the victory in the 1500 Meters and Ryan Pierson won the 3000 Meters. Kosbab joined Irbin Barrios, Carlos Rodriguez, and Connor Pope on the 4x200 Relay team that finished second. Koehnen anchored the 4x400 Relay team with Rodriquez, Barrios, and Talen Kettner helping the Mavericks to another runner-up finish. Hayden O'Connor, Kaleb Kennedy, Lincoln Kennedy, and Cooper Roben finished third in the 4x800 Relay. 

The girls took home fourth place from Mankato. 

Ava Thate led the way in the 55 Meter Dash and Ali Engebretsen won the Triple Jump for the Mavericks. Avery Sanders finished third in the 55 Meters. Maddy Lyon, Katelynn Kennedy, Evelynn Christenson, and Katie Hartke finished third in the 4x800 Relay.

The Mavericks are scheduled to be in Mountain Lake for their first outdoor meet of the season on Thursday.
