Blake Jagodzinke 5th Place Helps Win Augsburg National Title

Blake Jagodzinke finished fifth place at the NCAA Division III National Championships and earned All-American honors during his first national tournament appearance. 

The #5 seed at 157 pounds went 4-2 with two pins on the weekend and one of his losses came against the top seed and defending national champion. The Martin County West graduate and former Red Bull finished his Auggies junior season with a 20-8 record. 

Jagodzinke also received the NCAA Elite 90 award on Saturday. The honor goes to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the tournament. Jagodzinske is a finance and accounting major with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.

The Augsburg University men's wrestling team claimed its record-tying 15th NCAA Division III national championship and second in a row. The Auggies boasted a pair of individual wrestlers winning national titles and a total of six earning All-American honors.
