75 410s set to compete in Great Lakes Shootout
Thu 5-14-2020
JACKSON - The format for this weekend's season-opening event at Jackson Motorplex has been altered a little more.
A total of 75 410 winged sprint car drivers have pre-registered to be in Jackson.
Because of the high demand of entries into the Outlaw Sprints division, that will be the only class of race cars competing Friday and Saturday.
Track officials had to pull the RaceSaver sprint cars from the Friday program because of state government mandates. There will be a make-up race for the division later this season.
Friday’s main event is $5,000 to win and Saturday’s pays $7,000 to the winner. There is a rain date slated for Sunday if necessary.
This race was originally scheduled as an IRA sanctioned event on Friday, but has since expanded into the two-day Great Lakes Shootout with IRA support. Top drivers from the World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions and Pennsylvania Posse have registered.
The qualifying order for Friday’s program will be determined via a random draw Thursday night.
No spectators are allowed in the grandstand or the pits either night. Both nights will feature a live video stream on Speed Shift TV.
