JCC to face Minnewaska for 3AA title

MARSHALL – Jackson County Central will play Minnewaska Area for the Section 3AA boys basketball title at 8 p.m. Thursday at the RA Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University. Coverage on KKOJ starts at 7:45.
The Huskies are the South Sub-Section champions and have a record of 19-7 after tournament wins over Pipestone and Fairnont.
The Lakers are champs of the North Sub-Section and are 21-6 after beating Montevideo, Paynesville and Redwood Valley.
JCC is outscoring its opponents 81.0-73.3 per game, while Minnewaska has a 63.9-53.9 advantage.
The state tournament is scheduled to start next Wednesday, with two quarterfinal games at Williams Arena and two at Target Center.
Common opponent
Redwood Valley is the lone common opponent for the Huskies and Lakers, with both teams owning two wins over the Cardinals.
JCC defeated Redwood 102-94 in double overtime in Redwood Falls on Dec. 12 and 94-88 in Jackson on Jan. 23.
Minnewaska Area beat the Cardinals 72-70 in Glenwood on Dec. 7 and 51-50 in the North Sub-Section championship game last Saturday in Marshall.
