Spirit Lake man in custody following assault
(Spirit Lake)-- Multiple charges have been filed against a man as the result of an incident Saturday evening in Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake police say they were called around 7:16 pm to the Dynos Convenience store after getting a report of a disorderly man. The man left the store westbound on Highways 9 & 71 prior to police arriving. He was located by police a short time later. Police say he continued to be disorderly and assaulted one of the officers. As the suspect was being arrested, he was found to be allegedly in possession of a controlled substance.
Police say the suspect, 54-year-old Parish James Reed, was booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of assault on a peace officer causing bodily injury; two counts of interference with official acts resulting in bodily injury; possession of a controlled substance...marijuana; public intoxication...2nd offense; and disorderly conduct.
