Preliminary damage numbers released from spring weather
Preliminary damage assessment numbers from spring storms were released this week by the Jackson County Emergency Management Office.
Estimated damage from flooding and the ice storm currently sits at $6.2 million. Of that number $5.9 million is from the Co-ops for emergency protective measures, debris removal and permanent repairs. REA had 1,266 poles down or damaged that require replacement.
The remaining $390,000 is for county and township roads and culvert.
These numbers are preliminary and are not exact, but are a close estimate.
