Wolf sets Bulls hit record in road win

HERON LAKE - Andy Wolf set the Jackson career hit record in the Bulls' 10-2 First Nite League amateur baseball win over Heron Lake Sunday.
Wolf's single with one out in the third inning was career hit No. 680 as he moved past Kip Wachal into the top spot all-time for the Bulls. He later added hit No. 681 in the fifth inning and had a sacrifice fly in Jackson's seven-run seventh.
Trey Jacobson and Chris Gumto were both on base three times for the Bulls. Jacobson had a hit and two walks, while Gumto walked twice and was hit by a pitch.
Also getting were Ryan Rasche, Shad Wacker, Evan Olesen, Ben Scheevel and Alex Bretzman.
Scheevel was the winning pitcher, pitching three innings in relief. Shad Wacker started, with Pat Boggess closing.
The Bulls are scheduled to play at Windom at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
