Windom boys drop regular-season finale

NEW ULM – A late rally came up a goal short as the Windom Area boys hockey team fell to New Ulm 5-4 in its regular-season finale Tuesday night at New Ulm Civic Center.
New Ulm led 5-2 before Windom Area scored twice in the final two minutes.
Kyle Espenson scored two goals for Windom Area. Brady Espenson and Mikal Anderson scored one apiece.
Zach Espenson and Wyatt Haugen recorded assists.
Dan Stubbe made 37 saves for Windom. New Ulm had a 42-31 advantage in shots on goal.
Windom Area is 8-14-1 overall and finished its Big South Conference schedule with a 7-9 record. New Ulm is 17-6-1 and 14-1.
The Section 3A tournament starts next Tuesday.
