Williamson throws shutout inning
EVERETT, Wash. - Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson pitched a scoreless inning for the Everett Aqua Sox in a 5-1 Northwest League win over the Tri-City Dust Devils.
Williamson did not allow a hit and struck out two. He threw 13 pitches, eight for strikes.
Felix Hernandez was the starting pitcher for Everett, pitching four innings on a rehab appearance as he works toward returning to the Seattle Mariners roster
In seven appearances, Williamson has pitched 11 innings, allowing six hits, walking four and striking out 17. He has a 1.64 earned-run average and batters are hitting .158 against him.
Fairmont graduate Luke Becker plays for the Dust Devils. He did not appear in the game.
Becker has played in 38 games for Tri-City after playing in 20 games for Fort Wayne in the Midwest League.
Combined, Becker is hitting .183 (24-131) with four doubles, one triple and one home run. He's walked 23 times and has 10 runs batted in.
