Track and field teams compete at Cardinal Relays

LUVERNE – Jackson County Central tied for fourth in the girls team standings and sixth in the boys at the Luverne Cardinal Relays Tuesday.
JCC had one first-place finish in the girls meet as Zoe Pohlman won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.89 seconds. She also placed second in the 300 hurdles (53.16).
Kendell Kapplinger placed second in the shot put (33-7), Aleigha Henderson was fourth in the 100 meters (13.88) and the 4x100-meter relay team of Taylor Post, Maci Farmer, Haley Handevidt and Henderson was fourth (56.34).
The JCC boys had two runner-up finishes.
Matt Stubbe placed in the 200 meters (24.04) and Evan Insichienmay was second in the high jump (5-2).
Trevin Ssali-Gaustad was third in the long jump (18-8), Simon Pell fourth in the pole vault (8-6) and the 4x100 team of Elijah Meium-Bratrud, Insichienmay, Reese Adkins and Stubbe was fourth (48/4).
Jackson County Central is scheduled to go to a meet at Blue Earth Friday.
