Motorplex comes back after break

JACKSON - After two weeks off, Jackson Motorplex resumes action Saturday with Glenn Gillund Night.

Classes scheduled to run are the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.

Thomas Kennedy (Winnipeg) owns an eight-point lead in the 360 track standings entering Saturday’s event, which is the final race before the 360 Nationals.

Jack Dover (Springfield, Neb.) ranks second, Lee Grosz (Watertown, S.D.) 13 points out and Trey Starks (Puyallup, Wash.) 17 points off the pace.

Bill Johnson (St. Peter) leads the RaceSaver sprint cars standings by 25 points over John Lambertz (Sioux Falls), 26 over Brandon Bosma (Round Lake) and 37 over Colin Smith (Sheldon).

Brandon Halverson (Jackson) has built a 35-point advantage over Alex Schriever (Sioux Falls) in the NSL non-wing sprint cars standings. Jake Kouba (Minneapolis) is 41 points out Johnny Parsons III (Owatonna) trails by 58 points.

Hot laps are at 7 p.m.

There will be for the fans from Gillund Enterprises along with toys and candy for children. The original Justice Brothers No. 88 driven by Bob Hop will be on display.

After Saturday, the track takes another week off before the 360 Nationals Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1.
