Buttermakers hold off Bulls

HADLEY - Hadley was a 5-4 winner over Jackson in amateur baseball Saturday at Laurie Mahon Field.
The Buttermakers scored a run in the bottom of the first, with the Bulls answering in the top of the second. Hadley plated three in the bottom of the second for a 4-1 lead.
Jackson scored one in the top of the fifth, with Hadley scoring in the bottom. The Bulls would score single runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
Andy Wolf had three hits including two doubles for Jackson as he moved into a tie with Kip Wachal for most hits in Bulls' team history with 679.
Evan Olesen and Darrius Johnson were both on base three times. Olesen had a hit and two walks, while Johnson had a hit, walked and was hit by a pitch.
Brett Larson had a hit and walked, while Alex Bretzman had a hit and reached on an error. Also getting hits for Jackson were Ray Zalabowski and Blaise Jacobsen.
Olesen was the starting pitcher and took the loss. Kevin Holm and Pat Boggess also pitched for the Bulls, who play at Heron Lake at 5 p.m. Sunday.
