Tue 6-11-2019

MAPLE GROVE - Jackson County Central's fifth-grade boys basketball team won the Pacesetter State Tournament Sunday at Maple Grove High School.

The young Huskies defended their state title from a year ago, beating Stephen-Argyle and Staples-Motley in the first two rounds.

JCC then played Alexandria in the title game and trailed much of the contest before scoring the game's last seven points to win 33-29.

The team has a 32-1 record this year and is 89-2 over the last three years.

The Huskies will play in the Great 5 State Tournament this weekend with at least one game being played at Target Center.
