DesaRae Lynn Hendricks, 45, of Wesley Chapel, Florida (formerly of rural Jackson)

JACKSON: A Memorial Mass for DesaRae Lynn Hendricks, 45, of Wesley Chapel, Florida and formerly of rural Jackson, Minnesota, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 311 N. Sverdrup Avenue, Jackson, Minnesota. A Private Family Burial will be held later.

DesaRae was called to her eternal rest on January 27, 2025 in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.

DesaRae Lynn Hendricks was born on September 26, 1979 to Dary and Leila (Jasper) Hendricks in Lakefield, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 11, 1979, First Holy Communion in April of 1988, confirmed in the spring of 1996, all at Good Shepherd Church in Jackson, Minnesota. DesaRae attended Elementary and Middle Schools and Jackson County Central High School, graduating with the class of 1998. During her school years, she was involved in 4-H, basketball, golf, and volleyball. Her later school years she also worked after school. DesaRae was a farm girl, even though she didn’t want to be. She bailed hay, picked rocks and cleaned chickens. During harvest season, she would make meals, wash clothes and keep the house clean, besides her schoolwork and sports. In her earlier working years, before earning her degrees, she had a variety of jobs, bagging caramel corn, waitressing, working at banks, a lumber yard office, dealing cards at a casino and barista.

She attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, South Dakota and earned her Associate Degree. DesaRae attended Cosmetology School at Moses Lake, Washington where she worked in salons. She attended Big Bend Community College at Moses Lake, Washington transferring to Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, where she earned degrees in Accounting and Business Management. She then earned her CPA certifications. DesaRae worked at CPA Firms, Auditing Firms and Equity Firms.

DesaRae married David Maybee in August of 2010. The marriage was later dissolved. She lived in Moses Lake and then Green Acres, WA, later moving to Wesley Chapel, Florida. In 2022, she founded her own CPA Firm, CPA DES Consulting in Wesley Chapel, Florida. She worked hard for its success and was proud of her achievements of having a successful business.

DesaRae was a person who cared about other people, their feelings and always ready to have a good time with family and friends. DesaRae made many good friends in her employments, which she truly treasured. Her son, John was the center of her life. Everything she did was for his well-being, development and happiness. She was teaching John the values of life. Most nights ended with reading a book or two with John on DesaRae’s lap, and then saying their prayers. DesaRae believed in God with all her heart. DesaRae and John attended Grace Family Church in Land O Lakes, Florida. She had a password of Prov. 3:5&6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

She is survived by her son, John of Tampa, Florida; parents, Dary and Leila (Jasper) Hendricks of rural Jackson, Minnesota; brother, Blake (Vanessa) Hendricks of Moses Lake, WA, their children, Madison, Gunner, Holden and special friend, Taryn, Harper, Bristol and great-nephew, Hudson; aunts and uncles, Debra and David Schley of Alpha, Minnesota, Tim and Ann Jasper of Eagle River, Alaska, Jeff and Carole Jasper of Sturgis, South Dakota, Curt and Debbie Jasper of Orono, Minnesota and Mitch Jasper of Jackson, Minnesota; and cousins and other relatives.

DesaRae was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dewey and Ina Hendricks and James and Eveline Jasper; uncle, Jan Jasper.

DesaRae was so loved and she will be so missed.
