Two Crashes In Cottonwood County Send Multiple Victims To The Hospital On Tuesday

(Amboy Township)- A crash in Cottonwood County yesterday sent one to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash in Amboy Township at around 4:30 in the morning yesterday, when a 2014 Freightliner Tractor, driven by Douglas Vandehoef, age 62 of Windom, was driving north bound on Highway 71. A 2002 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Meng Yang, age 23 of Walnut Grove, was driving south bound on the same road when the two vehicles collided.

Yang was taken to the Windom Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the Jeffers Fire Department, Windom Ambulance Department and Windom Police all assisted at the scene.

(Windom)- A crash yesterday in Windom saw two brought to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash around 12:03 pm Tuesday, when a 2022 Freightliner Tractor, driven by John Rohrscheib, age 63 of Las Vegas, Nevada, was driving southbound on Highway 60.

A 2008 Toyota Camry, driven by Betty Torkelson, age 69 of Windom was traveling south bound on Highway 71 when the two vehicles collided. Beyond that, a third vehicle, a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by 68 year old Arlis Mcfarland of Lakefield, was hit by a light pole damaged in that initial crash.

Torkelson and Mcfarland were both taken to the Windom Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office, Windom Police Department and Windom Fire and Ambulance Departments all assisted at the scene.
