Sherburn Holiday Festival
Thu 6-17-2021
People are ready to get out and have fun this summer and what better way to do that than attend a local town festival. One of those taking place this weekend is the Sherburn Holiday Festival. This year they cut back to two days instead of three. Vice President of the Sherburn Lions Club, Nate Klima, says they have a lot of fun events planned.
"Starting Friday night the firemen will have their chicken feed and they'll have a street dance to follow that. If you have never been to the firemen's finger lickin chicken feed its fabulous, I would recommend coming out Friday night, supporting our firemen and stay for the street dance."
Steve Lang will provide music during the Sherburn Fireman's chicken feed and then Music by Rhino will take the stage and play from 8:30 to 12:30. A Sand volleyball tournament will kick things off on Saturday at the park and Klima says they are bringing something back from the past.
C&C will be running a dunk stand, good ole fashion dunk stand that you used to see in the past and you'll see some people from Sherburn that you might know that you might wanna dunk. I will be one of them, I think I'm in the late afternoon.
There is a tractor and car show that starts at 10 and goes till 2. The Lions food stand and root beer stand will be open from 11 to 8 and the beer garden opens at noon. The parade is at 3:00 on Saturday and line up starts at 2:15 at the Sherburn Elementary school. Keep an eye out for the Xtreme country 105.7 car as we will have a local celebrity riding with us.
