Jackson Women of Today Personal Care Donation Drive
(Jackson) Today and tomorrow (Friday) are the last days to donate to the 2nd Annual Jackson Women of Today Personal Care Drive Donation.
“Last year during covid we were looking for a way to kind of bring our community together and help out. And so we came up with the idea of having a personal care or hygiene item drive for the food shelf. One of our members has a family member who volunteers there and we know that is something they don't get a lot of donations with. And so that went really well last year and we decided we would like to do it again and we also decided to expand our donations to include the lower schools at JCC.”
That was Jordana Runck who has been a member of Jackson Women of Today for 5 years. Runck says they would like to build upon last year's successful donation drive.
“We got well over 100 items last year and we donated additional items with some of our Women of Today funds and so we hope that we can get a lot of things. They need really anything that can help someone with healthy hygiene, particularly feminine hygiene, deodorant, toothpaste all of those types of things are really appreciated.”
You can still drop off items at the Jackson Library in the entry way from 10:00 to 5:00 today and tomorrow. If you are unable to donate items in person you can reach out to the group on their Facebook page to find out other ways to donate. If you are interested in becoming a member of the JWOT their next meeting is Monday at Ashley Park at 6:30.
