Iowa Lakes Community College to host LifeServe Blood Drive May 9
(Estherville)-There’s a Blood Drive on tap in Estherville on Monday. Reporter Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Lakes Community College Student Senate and Iowa Lakes TRIO-Student Support Services will host a LifeServe Blood Drive on May 9.
Lifeserve Representative Kathie Gayther says there’s always a need for blood. “There is always a need for blood in the community and the one great thing about LifeServe Blood Center is that, our blood stays local. So, we are a community blood bank and so, the blood that you see us collect is the blood that saves lives within your community.”
She notes that, while not required, it’s a good idea to make an appointment. “You can visit our website at lifeservebloodcenter.org or you can also call us at 800-287-4903. If you happen to see a poster hanging around, there’s a QR code that you can scan, and go ahead and scan that and you can set up your appointment, as well. It is best to schedule an appointment, because we do base our staff and our time slots based on how many people we anticipate coming to the drive.”
The drive will run from noon 4 Monday in the Christensen Building, 621 South 18th Street in Estherville.
