DEED Says Almost 25% Of Minnesota Workers Work From Home
Thu 3-16-2023

(St. Paul)- Minnesota is so far in the lead on working from home in the Midwest. DEED says the tight labor market and low unemployment in Minnesota have both contributed to employers being open to workers working from home, whether a few days a week or 100% from home.
According to Census Bureau data, just under one in four Minnesotans work from home at least three days a week, far ahead of the US average which is 20%.
Compared to adjoining states like Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin at 14.5%, 12.6% and 16.7% respectively, the 23.5% that Minnesota is experiencing dwarfs all others in the region.
Some other contributors include still high gas prices, very high daycare prices and travel issues.
