Additional Details Released in Windom Stabbing

(Windom, Mn.)– We’re learning some additional details into a fatal stabbing that took place New Year’s Eve at The Phat Pheasant Pub in Windom.

Windom police have identified the suspect allegedly involved as No Name Given Happy. He’s been charged with murder in the 2nd degree with intent…not premeditated; murder in the 2nd degree without intent while committing a felony; assault in the 2nd degree with a dangerous weapon and threats of violence…reckless disregard. He remains held in the Cottonwood County Jail.

As we reported previously, one of the victims, 30-year-old Benjamin Matter of Windom, died of injuries he sustained in the incident. A second victim, only identified as being 31-years-old, sustained incapacitating injuries. Police now say that a third person was also stabbed. That victim is described as being a 30-year-old man from Windom. Police say he was treated at Windom Area Health and was released.

Police say the incident remains under investigation with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
