Unbeaten Huskies Advance to Fourth Straight State Semifinal

The Jackson County Central football team is going to the State Tournament semifinal round for the fourth straight year.
The Huskies took down Caledonia 42-15 in the State Tournament quarterfinal at Orono High School on Saturday night.
Caledonia made an interception to stop the opening JCC drive but fumbled the punt snap after a three-and-out. Roman Voss scored an eight-yard rushing touchdown and the two-point conversion to make it 8-0 JCC.
The Warriors grabbed another interception later in the first quarter but the JCC defense forced a turnover on downs.
Voss scored a second TD run from 68 yards away to make it 14-0 JCC.
Caledonia cut the Huskies lead in half with a TD pass and extra point.
Voss threw a 45-yard pass to Ben Gallagher on 3rd-and-20 before punching in a one-yard TD run and adding the two-pointer.
Voss ran for a 14-yard TD on 4th-and-1 to make it 28-7 JCC.
Gallagher had an interception to make that the halftime score.
Voss set a new school record in the third quarter with his fifth rushing TD from 24 yards away.
Voss finished with 264 yards on 17 carries. Gage Johnson added 111 yards on 13 attempts.
Voss found Evan Bartholomaus for a 40-yard TD pass and Blayze Hillmer scored the two-pointer to make it 42-7 JCC.
Caledonia recovered a fumble and scored a TD run and two-pointer to make the final score.
Huskies head coach Tom Schuller says the reloaded champions made the right moves to overcome the challenge of the Warriors for a 24th straight victory.
JCC gained 421 rushing yards and 88 passing yards for 509 total yards.
The past two state champions clash inside US Bank Stadium when the unbeaten Huskies play North #2 seed Eden Valley-Watkins on Friday.
