Thu 1-8-2026

The Martin County wrestling team lost to St. Peter and Worthington during their home triangular in Fairmont on Thursday night.
Red Bulls head coach Adam Williamson says they just needed a few more points here and there to keep more momentum on their side.
The Saints took down the Trojans 46-20 in the first dual of the night.
The Saints stayed in the win column 53-24 over the Red Bulls.
St. Peter built a 23-0 lead with four match wins before Pierce Rohman put Martin County on the board with a pin. The Saints got a pair of pins before Brock Stauffer, Torrey Paplow, and Kaedin Lange pinned the Red Bulls to a 35-24 deficit. St. Peter kept Martin County off the board after that.
Worthington outlasted the Red Bulls 35-33 in the nightcap.
Worthington won the first four matches to make it 22-0 Trojans. Rohman put the Red Bulls on the board again with a pin. Cooper Kolander persevered for a hard-fought decision to bring it to 22-9 Trojans. Worthington won by decision before back-to-back Martin County pins from Paplow and Lange. The Trojans won by major decision and clinched the dual with a pin before Aaron Becker won by fall and DJ Miller took a forfeit to make the final score.
Miller is ranked #7 at 285 pounds in the latest Class AA poll from the Guillotine.
Paplow is ranked #6 at 152 pounds. He says an “iron sharpens iron” mentality helps build confidence.
Rohman is ranked #2 at 133 pounds. He says it’s also important to stay loose in the heat of the moment.
The Red Bulls fall to 3-8 on the season with the Big South Conference Tournament up next on Saturday in Marshall.
