MCW Volleyball Ends Season in Subsection 2A Semi-Finals
The Martin County West volleyball season came to an end last night with a 3 to 0 loss to Cedar Mountain. Game scores were 25 to 21, 25 to 6 and 25 to 23. Emily Anderson had 8 kills on the night while Lucy Larson had 6 Grace Bicknase had 5. Bicknase had 18 set assists in the match. MCW ends the season with a 14 and 15 record overall. Cleveland won the first match of the night over Springfield so now Cedar Mountain will face Cleveland in the south Subsection 2A championship on Thursday. In the north part of Subsection 2A it was Mayer Lutheran over SESM 3 to 0 and Bold defeated NUC 3 to 1. #1 Mayer Lutheran now plays #2 NUC in the north subsection championship on Thursday. The winners of the north and south subsections will play for the Section 2A championship on Saturday.
In Section 3 class AA Windom defeated Montevideo 3 to 0 and Pipestone won against Redwood Valley 3 to 0. Paynesville defeated Litchfield 3 to 1 and it was #6 Minnewaska Area over #3 NLS 3 games to 2. Windom and Pipestone play for the Section 3 class AA south subsection championship on Thursday while Minnewaska will play Paynesville. Those winners will play for the Section 3 class AA championship on Saturday at SMSU.
