The Martin County West baseball team took the first lead but then Madelia took over on Thursday. 

The Mavericks lost 11-1 in six innings to the Blackhawks on the road. 

Maddex Faber brought home Jeremiah Olson with his RBI single for the 1-0 lead. Madelia eventually responded with three runs in the fourth, another trio in the fifth, and five more in the sixth to clinch the run-rule victory. 

Lucas Larson took the loss after allowing six runs with two earned on eight hits. He did toss a pair of strikeouts and a walk. 

The 1-2 Mavericks will look to shake back-to-back losses during a visit to Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda on Friday.
